Join us - as bare as you dare - for the Brighton leg of the World Naked Bike Ride! The annual mass ride which takes place in over 50 cities around the planet:
- celebrating bikes, bodies and low-impact living
- highlighting the vulnerability of cyclists and our strength and safety in numbers
- protesting against fossil-fueled climate change and the dominance of our streets by cars
We will gather to decorate our bikes and our bodies, ready for an 8-mile ride around the city, ending at the Naturist Beach at Black Rock for a big splash.
The ride aims to be celebratory, life affirming and inclusive. We will cycle with sound systems and flags highlighting the many environmental and social issues which cycling and body freedom can address.
Up to a thousand participants expected.
While we welcome photography at the start of the ride, we ask all to be respectful of those they photograph, and where possible to ask for consent. As last year, we will provide a protected area for undressing and preparation, away from intrusive and unwelcome photographers.
The Brighton ride is one of many around the UK and worldwide happening during June, including nearby Portsmouth, Southampton, Canterbury and London.
The ride forms part of national Bike Week.
Please ensure that, if participating, you have a road-worthy bike, bring sunscreen and something to drink. Children are welcome and should be accompanied by an adult carer.
AFTER-PARTY - TBC:
Details to follow.
